We arrived in Houston Friday afternoon. We spent the rest of the day getting settled in at Memorial Herman/TIRR Hospital. Saturday, Tory spent the day doing evaluations for the physical therapists so they can figure out where they need to start and what muscles he needs to work on. We are setting short-term goals for now. Our first goal is for him to be able to move himself from the bed to a wheelchair and for him to be able to control the wheelchair on his own.
As for his movements, they seem to be getting better. He is starting to slide his right leg (the weaker side) from left to right. Today I was able to stroll him around the hospital in his wheelchair. He is still fighting some dizziness when he sits up, but that seems to be getting better too.
Ever since we've been here, Tory has been in a great mood. He is ready to get to work which will start tomorrow. We both finally got to see Jalyn and Rylie. Tory was so excited to see them. Rylie climbed all over him and Jalyn laid in his bed with him and watched T.V.

Hi Julie, you don't know me but I am Tammie and Chris Goodnights' aunt... my son had a spinal cord injury almost 4 yrs ago so I know the pain and confusion you are going through...If you want to talk to someone who has been there you can call me...Tammie has my phone and e-mail address...by the way my son shattered his L1 and they said he probably would'nt walk again...but now he is walking...again if you want to talk please don't hesitate...I also have some great links to go to...
